Trinity College, founded in 1546 by Henry VIII, is the largest College in the University of Cambridge, steeped in centuries of history and innovation. The beauty and size of Trinity’s historic buildings and courts attract visitors from all over the world, but, with some 730 undergraduates, 340 graduate students, over 190 Fellows and around 350 non-academic staff the College is also a thriving, modern community. We are looking for an experienced Training and Development Manager, working as part of the Human Resources Team and closely with the Health and Safety function. This newly established role will involve analysing training needs for College staff and then designing developing and delivering training programmes which will enhance staff skills, capabilities and performance.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assessing training needs through consultation with key stakeholders
- Developing a core curriculum of management training
- Ensuring that all members of staff complete mandatory training
- Designing and delivering engaging and interactive training sessions, workshops, and seminars
- Developing and overseeing a programme of apprenticeship recruitment and progression
- Evaluating training effectiveness
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar training and development role. Excellent interpersonal skills are required to build effective professional relationships with stakeholders, providing coaching and support at all levels. The ability to plan, coordinate and deliver a variety of training programmes is essential, working independently and within a team. A strong proficiency in Microsoft Office/other relevant software applications, including e-learning development is highly desirable.
This position is based full-time in College. This is a fixed term position, for a period of two years.
